Promoting your website

Website promotion is concerned with ways in which to promote a website whereas website marketing focuses on how you can use your website as a marketing tool.

It’s no good having a website if no one knows about it or it can’t easily be found through search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. Our approach to developing a website promotional plan is to:

  • understand the organisation and the industry it is in
  • understand what the organisation is trying to achieve via its website
  • understand who the target audience(s) is and what their likely pattern of online behaviour is
  • examine the existing methods of promotion to learn more about what is working and what is not
  • develop a prioritised list of promotional techniques from the pool of strategies United Focus has developed
  • develop a budget and schedule for implementation
  • develop an evaluation method and criteria by which to assess the effectiveness of the promotional strategy

Promoting your website does not have to be an expensive exercise. There are many things you can do to make your site more visible that don’t cost any money at all – eg mention your email address in the automated telephone message service or answering machine.

The optimum mix of website promotional techniques differs from organisation to organisation. But what does not differ is the need for all organisations to develop and implement an effective website promotional plan.

We have the expertise and experience to help you develop an online marketing plan. So contact us and talk to us about how we can help you.
